We believe that, in today’s world, technology has now enabled us to communicate, interact and learn over great distances and we are no longer impeded by the barriers that have traditionally held us back.
At iAM, we work with many diverse and experienced educators, musicians and specialists who share our vision to create worthwhile practical learning experiences. We want to help you achieve, wherever you are.
The traditional means of study, such as a school, college or university, do not suit everyone, and rarely fit in with our busy work, family or social lives, so we have developed programmes of study that are flexible and can be adjusted to suit your particular needs. Our courses are designed and developed by working composers and performers who are also experienced educators and researchers with backgrounds in adult, further and higher education. We believe in ‘doing’ courses, helping you to develop real-world skills regardless of your favoured specialism.
Continuing Professional Development:
Our flexible CPD music courses offer educators working worldwide a chance to explore and develop areas of music and composition to a greater depth, using methods that can be integrated into professional practice. Courses are offered in short and longer term study formats meaning that each course can be adapted to the specific level needed by each educator.
Our directors and tutors are passionate music researchers and we actively encourage and support ongoing study involving distance education provision and assessment. Other projects also include developing and testing the assessment of performance over a distance environment, and the associated music examination material for such exams.
We believe in providing:
- Accessible Tutoring and Mentoring
- Accessible, Ethical and Supportive Publishing
- Accessible Recording Opportunities
- Accessible Examination and Assessment Methods
- Accessible Development
Our aim is to open doors and provide opportunities for all musicians, composers and arrangers.
